Hurray! Some exhibits are actually opening in real life. We are fortunate enough to have a piece in Art Quilts 2, an exhibition organized jointly by the two California/Nevada regions of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). It’s just south of San Francisco in the cute town of Pacifica at the Sanchez Art Center.
The art center is also holding a virtual artist talk on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2pm Pacific Standard Time. You must pre-register, but you can do that here. We’ll be participating. Maybe we’ll “see” you there.
If you can’t make it to the exhibit, they have a lovely slideshow of the twenty-eight works of art. Be sure to click on all before you start or you will miss some amazing pieces–including ours!
“The Language of Color 9: Color Dissonance” is part of our series of colored pencil images where the text relates not only to color but race. “LOC 9” has been featured on the cover of publications both near (in a Sacramento neighborhood publication), and far (in a German quilting magazine). Go to our portfolio and click on “Pencils” to view more quilts in this series.
